THE HISTORY AND MEANING OF THE LESBIAN SYMBOL

The lesbian symbol’s history is relatively recent , emerging in response to the dominance of the rainbow banner within the broader LGBTQ+ community . Initially, designers felt that the rainbow standard didn't adequately represent lesbian experiences and identities. In 1999, Denise Lyon designed a
